Ricercatore

In 2000 I took my degree (Summa cum Laude) in Electronic Engineering (indirizzo Calcolatori Elettronici) at University of Palermo with the thesis "Tecniche di descrizione di scene complesse mediante reti neurali gerarchiche". I worked in Catania Advanced System Technology (AST) Lab of STMicroelectronics from 2000 to 2004. In 2004 I started my ph.d. at Department of Computer Engineering - University of Palermo. During the ph.d I spent more than one year at Center for Signal and Image Processing (CSIP) of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Georgia Tech (USA). In 2007 I took my ph.d. defending the thesis "Models and techniques for image representation and automatic image annotation". Since 2008 I am Researcher at Institute for High Performance Computing and Networking (Istituto di Calcolo e Reti ad Alte Prestazioni ICAR) of National Research Council of Italy (CNR) in Palermo.
