Active Routers Testbed (ART)

ART is 40 nodes cluster at CERE-CNR to study and test the "Active Networks" computational paradigm.

The main objective of this project is the realization of a hardware testbed which prototypes a network processing environment according to the Active Networks paradigm. The architecture consists of several "active" nodes with a high interconnection capability.
The hardware testbed will spawn many research activities on Active Networks computational possibilities, such as an architecture for Active Networks management, a monitor for distributed Active Applications, the study of software programming techniques and computational models for Active Applications.

Aims of the project ART:

You can have a look at our system in real time and inject active capsules in the nodes by means of the Active Network gateway.
